About the UCSC Genome Browser Mirror at Washington University in St. Louis
|
|
|
This site is a local mirror of the UCSC Genome Browser.
It contains the reference sequence and working draft
assemblies for many Drosophila genomes currently annotated by students participating in the GEP.
The assemblies available in this site differ from those at the UCSC browser
at University California Santa Cruz. We hope you find our assemblies useful.

19 Aug. 2011 - Genome Browser Update
New RNA-Seq evidence tracks are now available for the D. erecta, D. mojavensis, and D. grimshawi
genome browsers. All the blastx alignment tracks have also been updated to FlyBase release 5.39. Additional finished
clones from the D. mojavensis Muller D element (3L reference) region have been added into the
Dmoj5 database.

2 Apr. 2011 - D. mojavensis 3L Reference Region Assembly
29 out of 53 fosmid clones from the D. mojavensis Muller D element (3L reference) region that have been finished by
GEP students are now available. All the blastx alignment tracks have also been updated to FlyBase release 5.32

27 Aug. 2010 - Genome Browser Update
In order to improve support for next-generation sequencing data, the Genome Browser has been updated to release 238.
This release added a few navigation features: including the ability to drag-and-zoom and reorder tracks. To zoom
to a particular region, click on the starting position at the base position track and then swipe to the end position.
The browser will redraw at the new range when the mouse is released. To re-order the tracks, click on the
track configuration (gray) bar on the browser image for the track you wish to move and then drag the track
to the new position.
All the blastx alignment tracks have also been updated to FlyBase 5.29 and the
D. mojavensis Dot assembly (Dmoj4) now includes RNA-Seq data tracks (including TopHat splice site predictions).

25 Aug. 2009 - New D. melanogaster protein alignment tracks for Genome Browsers available
In order to synchronize the GEP annotation efforts to the same D. melanoagster reference gene models, a new blastx alignment track has been added to
the genome browsers for the D. erecta dot, D. erecta 3L control region, and D. mojavensis dot. This track shows the sequence alignments
between proteins in D. melanogaster (Release 5.20) and the project contig sequence. The Refseq track against mRNA in D. melanogaster has been
deprecated.

The sequence and annotation data displayed in the Genome Browser
are freely available for academic, nonprofit, and personal use
with the following conditions:
- Genome sequence data use restrictions are noted within the
species sections on the Credits
page.
- Some annotation tracks contributed by external collaborators
contain proprietary data that have specific use restrictions. To
check for restrictions associated with a particular genome assembly,
review the database/README.txt file in the assembly's
downloads directory.
